 have struggled with my weight since I gave birth to my first daughter in 1977.  Back and forth my weight went but I was never able to achieve a goal weight, the weight that I should be.  I had one doctor place on my hospital chart that I was obese.  I was so broken that at that point I resolved myself I was just going to be "BIG".  I traveled for my job and on the plane coming home from an exhausting travel a very nice looking middle aged man had the sit next to me.  We striked up a conversation of small talk and then out of no where he said "You have such a pretty face, if you would lose weight you could go far" then he got up from his sit and asked the flight attendant to have his sit changed.  I was never so embarrassed in my life then that moment.  I had lost about 30 pounds when I met my current husband and I was feeling great about myself, but after
2 1/2 years I gained it back and more.  I was up to 250 lbs when I saw you with Diana Sawyer and I told myself what is it going to hurt.  In 7 months I am down to 178 and have started pilates.  I have 30 more pounds to go.

 This really works! I only had 20 pounds to loose. So far, I've lost 10, but the thing is I haven't changed what I eat, just when I eat it. I haven't used your menus, but I do follow your concept. I still get lots of veggies and fruit, healthy proteins, whole grains....but I also have dessert - real dessert. I just eat it for my 10:00am snack instead of 8:00 at night. The only thing I did was reverse my meals and stopped eating after 5:30pm. My last meal is slimfast and that's at 5:15 or so. Nothing after that.  I feel so much better eating this way and it's so easy. AND I can eat at Olive Garden, I just eat there at lunch!

It has been a looong time since we talked and that was well over a year ago. At that time I was saying how my husband and I were getting a divorce, and yes unfortunately that is true. I have my own place now (I just moved in less than a month ago!) and only have my 3 boys every other week.
Over the course of all this, I have lost 40lbs. Mainly to clear my head I have been exercising like a MANIAC and eating well of course. I've kind of gone off plan here for a few weeks but am ready to hit it hard again so your e-mails were very timely. I was actually thinking of you today when I bought TOFU because without you, I would never even have dreamed I would eat it and like it!
I still would like to lose about 30 lbs, so I'm planning on working on that Reverse Diet again because nothing feels better than sticking to your plan.
It's awesome to see you are a Republican, too. :) Good to know there are other freedom fighters out there!

When I first began reversing my life, I felt like I was being robbed of something important by not being able to eat as much sodium, especially because I didn't believe I was actually eating that much to  begin with. Then the most amazing thing happened. I added salt into one of the meals I was cooking. I couldn't eat it! If I didn't see it with my own eyes, I would never have believed it. I tried to continue taking bites so I didn't waste the food- but I had to stop. It was awful, Tricia. I could not believe how salty and unappealing it was. I am just so grateful for the knowledge and freedom this lifestyle provides and I am grateful for you. I think I am getting good at this and I am loving the food. I made Matzo patties for lunch today. They have zero sodium and zero sugar.

I wanted to write and thank you for documenting your miraculous discover about food.  The other day I made a decision to start skipping dinner and started looking stuff up on line and found you.  I have been twently lbs over weight for 5 years and nothing seems to work.  I have given up sugar, carbs, have a low caloric intake, the whole shebang.
 
I am 46 and have to have something simple and encouraging, in order to have it be a life style and not a temporary fix.  I have be Reversing for three nights now and can't believe how vital I feel in the morning.  I DO talk to Jesus and I asked him "could it be this simple?"  SURE IT CAN!  LOL  I have faith and will never give up on myself.  I have a five year old son that I want to be active and healthy with for a long time to come.
 
How do I join your Yahoo Group?  I would LOVE to read about other people's experiences.
 
Keep extending yourself, you are doing a great thing.

I'm so glad to have stumbled onto an old issue of Woman's World with you on the cover!  I'm very excited to get started on your reverse diet.  I've been on Atkin's for about two months now but have only lost 14lbs!  I'm 46 yrs old and approximatley 90lbs overweight.  I'm depressed and disgusted with myself.  I hate to run into people I haven't seen in a while because I can see the "OMG" expression on their faces.  You are my last resort.  I've tried everything!!  I've dieted myself up to 208lbs!!  At 5 ft 0" that's not good!!  Not sure how.......I can't go without pasta and potatoes forever.  If I had lost more weight, it might be different, but I'm not seeing the results I wanna see.  I'm sick and tired of being tired and FAT!!!  I hate it!!!  I used to have it "going on" and I still do but not in a good way!!  lol!!  I'll keep you posted......wish me luck!!  Thanks for the information/recipes & inspiration!  You're the best!!
